StaffStaff at Newbury OrthodonticsNewbury Orthodontic Centre was established in 1988. Mr Mak has worked here as an associate since 1992 and as the principal from 1998 to 2015. He then became director of Newbury Orthodontics Ltd in 2015. Mr Campbell joined in 2010 and has taken over as director of the company in 2016. Miss Jackson joined the practice in 2008.

This is a practice that limits its treatment to Orthodontics; your dentist provides all other dental treatment. It is essential that you continue to see your dentist for regular routine care to ensure good oral health throughout your orthodontic treatment.

Mr Oliver Campbell

Mr Campbell completed his degree in Dentistry (BDS) in 1998 from the University of Bristol. In his early career, he completed his Vocational Training in general dental practice and a number of junior hospital posts including Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Restorative Dentistry and Paediatric Dentistry. He passed the Dental Faculty membership examinations (MFDS) of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2000 to enter specialist training.

During 3 years of orthodontic training at the Eastman Dental Hospital, London as a Specialist Registrar, he obtained an MSc in Orthodontics (University of London) in 2005 and the Membership in Orthodontics (MOrth) from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2006. He then went on to complete a further 2 year training at the Eastman Dental Hospital and Kingston General Hospital and passed the Intercollegiate Fellowship Examination in Orthodontics (FDS) from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2009 entitling him to work as an NHS Consultant

Mr Campbell works on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

Mr. Wing Yeung Mak

Mr. Mak graduated with his dental degree (BDS) in Hong Kong in 1985. He worked as a general dentist until 1988 when he attended the three year postgraduate course in Orthodontics at the Eastman Dental Hospital, University of London. He graduated with an MSc in Orthodontics (1990), Diploma in Orthodontics (1990) and Membership in Orthodontics (1991) of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and is on the Specialist List (Orthodontics) held by the General Dental Council.

He started working as an associate in the Newbury practice in 1992. In 1998, he took over as principal of the practice. In June 2006, Mr Mak gave up his part-time post of Clinical Lecturer in the Orthodontic Department at the Eastman Dental Institute in London, a post he held for 10 years, to concetrate on working for this practice.

He works in practice on a Thursday afternoon, Friday all day and some Saturdays.

Miss Orla Jackson

Miss Jackson qualified from Cork University Dental Hospital, Ireland in 1999 and then moved to the UK. Following two and a half years in General Dental Practice she spent two years in hospital posts in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. During this time she gained her Fellowship in Dental Surgery (MFDS).

Subsequently, she undertook formal training as an Orthodontist at the Eastman Dental Hospital, London and at St. Richard's Hospital, Chichester while working part-time for Islington PCT London in paediatric dentistry.

During her training she obtained a Masters Degree in Orthodontics from University College London and her MOrth (Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of England) qualifying her for registration on the Specialist List in Orthodontics held by the General Dental Council.

In 2008 she began working at Newbury Orthodontic Centre with a view to providing quality care exclusively in the specialty of Orthodontics.

She works in practice on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
