This is a practice that limits its treatment to Orthodontics; your dentist provides all other dental treatment. It is essential that you continue to see your dentist for regular routine care to ensure good oral health throughout your orthodontic treatment. Our Team Orthodontists Mr. Wing Yeung Mak
Dr. Mak graduated with his dental degree (BDS) in Hong Kong in 1985. He worked as a general dentist until 1988 when he attended the three year postgraduate course in Orthodontics at the Eastman Dental Hospital, University of London. He graduated with an MSc in Orthodontics (1990), Diploma in Orthodontics (1990) and Membership in Orthodontics (1991) of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and is on the Specialist List (Orthodontics) held by the General Dental Council. He started working as an associate in the Newbury practice in 1992. In 1998, he took over as principal of the practice. In June 2006, Dr Mak gave up his part-time post of Clinical Lecturer in the Orthodontic Department at the Eastman Dental Institute in London, a post he held for 10 years, to concetrate on working for this practice. Miss Philippa Wilson
Dr Wilson graduated from the University of Newcastle in 1991 and did her vocational training in Bristol. This was followed by hospital house jobs in oral and maxillofacial surgery in Bristol and paedodontics in Cardiff. She then worked in the Community Dental Service before attending the three-year full-time orthodontic training at the Eastman Dental Hospital in London, graduating with MSc and MOrth and received awards for her MSc research project. She is registered with the General Dental Council as a Specialist in Orthodontics. She is a keen sportswoman and represented Northern Ireland in fencing at the Commonwealth Games in 1998, and then represented England in rowing at the Commonwealth Games in 2002.
Miss Orla Jackson
Dr Jackson graduated from University College Cork, Ireland in 1999. Following two and half years in dental practice, she spent two years in hospital posts in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Southampton General Hospital and University College London Hospital NHS Trust, including the Eastman Dental Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children. During this period she gained her Fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2004. She then undertook post-graduate orthodontic training at the Eastman Dental Hospital in London and St. Richard's Hospital in Chichester while working part-time in paediatric dentistry for Islington Community Dental Service. She graduated with MSc in Orthodontics in 2007 and Membership in Orthodontics in 2008. She is registered with the General Dental Council as a Specialist in Orthodontics. Manager & Nurses
